About the race
The 5K Bark-A-Thon is a fundraising run held at North Glenmore Park in Calgary on September 12, 2026. The event supports the Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation and lists a fundraising goal of CA$15,000 with CA$3,023.40 raised to date. The event program includes a 5-kilometre route on park trails. A lead cyclist guides participants along the course and a sweep volunteer, called the caboose, ensures no one is left behind.
Check-in and packet pick-up take place at North Glenmore Park Parking Lot A beside the Calgary Rowing Club. After the run there is a festival with live music, a beer garden, food vendors, activities with pet retailers and kennels, a photo backdrop, raffle prizes and fundraising awards. Raffle prizes announced in the event materials include a hotel stay, a Lululemon bundle, a group Pilates class and an oil change package. Registration options are offered for adults and children, including basic and upgraded 5K entries; basic entries include a bib and upgraded entries include a bib and event shirt. Children under six enter free and participants over 12 follow adult pricing.
