Event Overview
The Band on the Run 5K is a community sports event held in Linden, Michigan. This event supports the Linden High School Marching Band. The course leads participants through the campus of Linden Community Schools, with the start and finish lines located on the 50-yard line of Claude Cranston Stadium.
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5k Run
- Kids Run (1/2 Mile)
The 5k Run is open to both runners and walkers, though there is no separate competitive category for walking. Members of the marching band perform along the course to provide music and motivation for those taking part. The Kids Run (1/2 Mile) is designated for participants aged 10 and under.
Special Competitions
The event features a rockstar theme where individuals are encouraged to dress in costume. A "Solo Artist" prize is available for participants. Additionally, there is a timed team competition for groups. These "bands" must consist of four to six members. While no musical talent is required, the group with the fastest four members to finish the course receives a special award. Small groups registering as a band also receive tiered registration discounts for each additional member.
