Event Overview
The Bama Runs for Breast Cancer 5K Color Run is a community fundraiser held at the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community. The course follows the University of Alabama 5K Campus Loop, starting at Denny Chimes. Participants can choose to either run or walk the distance.
The initiative aims to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention and provide support to patients in the Tuscaloosa area. Funds collected during the event are directed toward the DCH Health System's Help & Hope Fund and Universities Against Cancer's The Pink Promise Fund. These programs provide free scalp-cooling treatments to prevent chemotherapy-related hair loss and offer emergency financial assistance for medical bills and utility support to patients under an active diagnosis.
Participation Details
Registration for the event is available through two different tiers:
- 5K Color Run - Full Race Package: Includes registration, a t-shirt, Greek Point credit, and two raffle tickets.
- 5K Color Run - Base Package: Includes registration and Greek Point credit.
Participants must complete required waivers before the start of the race. Check-in for the event takes place on the University of Alabama campus. In addition to individual registrations, the event accepts donations to support local breast cancer screening and patient assistance programs.
