Balloons Over 66 5K
Balloons Over 66 includes a chip timed 5K road run and a set of kid races held at the Lincoln Community High School track. Registration is online only; there is no race‑day or on‑site registration. Participants are required to be in good health and symptom free from any illness for at least two weeks before the event.
Race details note that timing begins when participants cross the timing equipment at the start line and that Kinetic Timing will provide chip timing. The 5K course includes one water stop on Home Avenue. Race bib and t-shirt pickup is handled at the Lincoln Park District. All finishers are eligible for a bottled water or alcoholic beverage at Spirited Republic with a coupon; alcoholic beverages require age 21 plus valid ID.
Kid races are organized by age with the following distances:
- 5K
- 100 m for ages 1–3
- 200 m for ages 4–6
- 300 m for ages 7–9
Kid race participants receive a shirt, finisher medal, and a snack. Only the 100 m race may allow up to one parent to run with the child. Participation medals are reserved for the first finishers in each category as specified by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
