Balic Wine Run 5K
The Balic Wine Run 5K is a sporting event held at the Balic Winery in Mays Landing, New Jersey. The event takes place on a produce and vegetable farm, featuring a course with naturally occurring uneven ground. Participants have the option to either run or walk the designated distance.
- 5 km
The event is chip timed, and results are posted online for all participants. While the race is open to individuals of various ages, those under the age of 21 receive a modified registration package that does not include alcohol-related items. Due to USDA regulations regarding the farm setting, dogs are not permitted on the property. Strollers are allowed on the course, though the terrain is noted as uneven.
Registered participants receive a variety of event-specific items, including a ring-spun cotton t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a chip-timed race bib. Participants of legal age also receive a shatterproof, collapsible wine glass and a pour of wine after completing the course. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day of the event and begins one hour before the race starts.
Awards are provided for the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 80 and over. Competitive runners aiming for these awards are required to start with the first wave. Awards are available for pickup at the registration table on the day of the event once results are verified, as items will not be shipped after the conclusion of the race. The event also maintains a partnership with the charity Nik’s Wish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
