Baker Trail UltraChallenge
The Baker Trail UltraChallenge is a 50-mile ultramarathon on the northern section of the Baker Trail in Vowinckel, Pennsylvania. The point to point course finishes at the Brookville Evangelical Methodist Church, and the route includes about 6,200 feet of climbing, single track that overlaps the North Country Trail, and forested sections through Cook Forest.
The Baker Trail is marked with yellow blazes on trees, poles, and other objects, but the course also follows dirt and paved country roads in many areas. Some road segments have narrow shoulders, and runners are advised to watch for blazes because the trail can turn abruptly off a road. Going off course is common and quick recognition and backtracking are typical strategies. Guided training runs are offered free to help participants learn the route; training dates are Friday, July 24 2026, Sunday, July 26 2026, and Saturday, August 1 2026. A separate free Women's Run & Raffle is scheduled for Sunday, May 17 and includes a 4 mile loop and a timed group format.
Individuals and relay teams of up to five members may register. Finishers within the fourteen hour cutoff receive one piece of a three piece medal series; completing all three sections of the series earns a commemorative holder. The Brookville Evangelical Methodist Church at 30 White Street, Brookville, PA serves as basecamp for check in, a pre race dinner, camping with porta johns, shuttle service to the start, drop bag collection, parking, the finish line, and a post race picnic. Participant check in is mandatory and is available Friday evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the church or race morning between 3:45 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. Registration closes Friday, August 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Equity and inclusion policies for 2026 reserve 50 percent of spots for women and 50 percent for men, include transgender and nonbinary guidelines, and offer pregnancy and adoption deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
