Badlands Race Series

The Badlands Race Series is a set of trail events held within Island Lake Recreation Area near Brighton, MI (6301 Kensington Rd). The event offers three race divisions that share a common start and finish hub and use the park's trail network.

  • Nightfall 50K
  • Overnight 100K
  • Daybreak 50K

The Overnight 100K is run as two full loops of the 50K course. Two of the three races take place at night or overnight, while one 50K is scheduled as a daytime race. Published race cutoffs list nine hours for each 50K and eighteen hours for the 100K.

Field size is limited to 450 participants total, distributed evenly across the three divisions and capped at 150 runners per division. The event is the inaugural running of this series. The published prize purse totals $9,750, with allocations for the Night 50K and Overnight 100K, an extra course record bonus, and no prize purse for the daytime 50K. Registered entrants will receive a tech hoody and other small items, and finishers within the cutoff will receive finisher medals and awards.
