Bacon and Beer - Bacon5Kegs
This event is an annual 5K run/walk held at Festival Park, 5 Fifth Street, Racine, WI. The route runs along the shores of Lake Michigan and is described as flat with no hills. The start and finish are located on the Festival Park grounds.
Race services include packet pickup at the Festival Park concessions building and an on-site after-party on the patio. Complimentary items listed for event-day participants include bacon and other pork products, and a beverage. Live music is scheduled during the event and after-party. Participants receive a commemorative race medal and a commemorative T-shirt with Dry Zone moisture-wicking fabric.
Timing uses a shoe tag system; runners must wear shoe tags and a visible front-facing race bib to be timed. Results are posted online and are subject to a verification period before becoming official. Awards recognize the top three male and top three female finishers and the top male and female in each five-year age category.
A Remote Runner option is offered: packets, including swag, shirt, bib, and medal, are mailed after the event for those who complete the 5K off-site and may submit an optional time and receive a finisher certificate. Parking is available throughout the area. Refunds are not offered, but transfers and other registration changes are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
