About the race
The Babbitts Backyard Ultra is a "last person standing" format running event held near Flagstaff, Arizona. The course is located near SP Crater and uses a combination of dirt trails and roads.
The event consists of consecutive loops of 4.167 miles. A new loop starts exactly one hour after the previous one began. Runners must complete each loop within that hour and be back in the starting corral to begin the next loop on time.
The course has approximately 150 feet of elevation gain per loop. Water is available throughout the race. Each runner is allocated a 10' by 10' space near the start/finish for personal aid. One crew member per runner is permitted.
The event continues until only one runner remains who can complete a loop within the hour. All other participants receive a DNF, with results provided for the total distance each covered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
