Babbitts Backyard Ultra

Babbitts Backyard Ultra is a Last Person Standing race held near SP Crater in Flagstaff, AZ. The format requires competitors to complete repeated loops of 4.167 miles; each loop must be finished within one hour and runners must return to the starting corral to begin the next loop. The course combines dirt trails and road, with approximately 150 feet of elevation gain and views of the crater and the Peaks.

The event follows specific rules: each loop starts precisely one hour after the previous loop and pre-start warnings are given; all competitors must start at the bell and late starts are not allowed. Except for restroom breaks, competitors may not leave the course during a loop, and non-competitors, including eliminated runners, are not permitted on the course. Personal aid is not allowed while on a loop; runners are responsible for their own supplies and are allotted a 10 by 10 foot space near the start/finish. One crew member at a time per runner is allowed. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited. Water will be available during the race. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; results list each runner by distance covered and the event ends when a single winner is determined.
