AVFRD Harvest Blaze 5K and Kids' Spark Sprint
The Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department presents the Harvest Blaze 5K and the Kids' Spark Sprint on September 26, with both races taking place at Route 7 Brewing (20051 Riverside Commons Plaza #148, Ashburn, VA 20147). The event includes a post-race celebration at the brewing location featuring food, drinks, and live music.
Distances offered:
- 5K Harvest Blaze 5K running race.
- 1K Kids' Spark Sprint for ages 4–10.
Registration for the 5K is tiered by date: $35 through July 3, $40 July 4 through August 3, and $45 from August 4 through Race Day; entries made after September 5 will not receive a shirt. The Kids' Spark Sprint fee is $20 through Race Day; the kids entry does not include a beer ticket. All registrations must be completed online and online registration remains open through Race Day.
Packet pickup is available at Route 7 Brewing on Friday, September 25, from 4:00–8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 26, from 7:00–8:30 a.m. Participants age 21 and older receive a complimentary beer ticket at packet pickup; a valid photo ID is required at pickup and to redeem the ticket at the brewery.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall female and top three overall male finishers in the 5K. Proceeds and donations support the department's scholarship fund for members and their children. AVFRD has served the community for more than 80 years.
