Autumn Leaf Run
The Autumn Leaf Run is scheduled for 10/03/2026 at Oakdale Nature Preserve, 4433 S Cranes Grove Rd, Freeport, IL 61032. The event features a single loop trail of approximately 5K that runs through varied natural areas.
The route passes through wide tree-lined trails, moderate hills, two native prairies, bridge crossings and several single-track sections along a wooded creek ecosystem. The start and finish lines are located close to each other, and the event will be timed using a chip timing system. The event is open to all ages and to runners, walkers and nature enthusiasts.
The event has a twofold purpose: to provide an opportunity for residents to take part in a heart-healthy activity on their own schedule and to raise funds for improvements at Oakdale Nature Preserve. Proceeds will go to the Freeport Parks Foundation to support projects such as bridge replacements, trail upgrades, picnic tables and the fire pit.
