Australian Alpine Ascent : overview
The Australian Alpine Ascent takes place on 14 February 2026 in the Kosciuszko National Park, with event base at The Stables Resort Perisher in Perisher Valley. The event is organised by Elite Energy and includes trail running and an XTRI option. The event is sanctioned and supported technically and insured through triathlon NSW. Participants may compete individually or as teams.

- 55 km trail run
- 27 km trail run
Early-bird registration fees listed are $287 for the 80 km, $238 for the 55 km, and $165 for the 27 km (early-bird period noted as May 21 to Oct 24). Race services include timing chips with results on event day, aid stations on all courses with water and energy drink, post-event snacks and recovery nutrition, and a finisher medal. The event provides dedicated event crew, professional traffic control at major intersections, and possible traffic restrictions or road closures subject to local approvals. Local sport and charity groups receive a portion of event proceeds. The event is moving toward a pin-free system with BibSnaps available for purchase. Participants who reach the top and return in the AAA Extreme receive a "Rock of Pain" trophy made from mountain rock and timber. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
