AR5K Road Race : Austin Reardon Memorial 5K
The AR5K Road Race is a community 5K event in Norwood, Massachusetts, scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026. The event is organized by the Austin Reardon Scholarship Foundation to raise funds for high school scholarships and charitable donations.
The course starts and finishes at the Knights of Columbus, 572 Nichols Street. The route follows Nichols Street, left onto Willett Parkway, left around Westover Parkway onto Rugby Road, left onto Albemarle Road, left onto Essex Street, left onto Croydon Road, then returns with a right onto Westover Parkway and a right onto Nichols Street to finish at the Knights of Columbus. Runners returning to Nichols Street are asked to stay to the left until the finish. At least one water station will be on the route. Police details will be stationed on Nichols Street, at the intersection of Willett Street, and at the entrance to the Knights of Columbus.
The foundation reports scholarship awards and charitable activities: it awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships in both 2024 and 2025, with a commitment that includes a $20,000 scholarship plus up to five $1,000 scholarships depending on funds raised. The road race is one of two annual fundraising events for the foundation; the other is a golf tournament.
Every registered participant receives a pair of socks and the race donates a matching pair to charity. Past sock donations were 450 pairs in 2024 and 500 pairs in 2025; a new color was planned for 2026. The event is held rain or shine and tickets are nonrefundable.
