Course and elevation
The Spurs Austin International Half is a point-to-point half marathon in Austin, Texas, held January 17, 2027. The course length is 13.1 miles and features a significant net downhill with gentle descents and occasional flat stretches.
Mile-by-mile notes describe a gentle descent from Stonelake Blvd in miles 1 to 3, a continuing downhill through north Austin and Shoal Creek in miles 4 to 6, an Energy Zone before mile 7 with on-course gels, tree-lined streets in miles 7 to 9, and passage through the University of Texas campus in miles 10 to 13.1 leading to a steady decline into the finish near 14th and San Jacinto by the Texas State Capitol. The start is listed in front of the Regal Gateway Theater at 9800 Stonelake Blvd. A relay exchange is located just past mile 6.
On-course support includes aid stations stocked with water and lemon-lime electrolyte at every station, recyclable cup filling via Water Monsters, and marked recycling bins. An Energy Zone before mile 7 will offer gels in Apple Cinnamon and Mixed Berry caffeinated flavors. Medical personnel from Ascension Seton will provide basic first aid at each aid station. Multiple restrooms will be available at each aid station, with additional facilities near miles 1 and 3.
The course will remain open for four hours; participants not maintaining the required pace will be directed to the sidewalk and will not be allowed to finish after the closure time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
