Spurs Austin International Half : Course and race details
The Spurs Austin International Half is a point to point, net downhill half marathon held in Austin, Texas on January 17, 2027. The course covers 13.1 miles and moves from the Stonelake Boulevard area toward downtown, finishing near 14th and San Jacinto by the Texas State Capitol.
The route features a gentle descent in miles 1–3 from Stonelake Blvd, a stronger downhill trend through north Austin and Shoal Creek in miles 4–6, and a designated relay exchange just past mile 6. An Energy Zone is located before mile 7 and provides gels; miles 7–9 pass through tree-lined streets and local business areas. Miles 10–13.1 run through the University of Texas area with a steady decline into the finish.
Aid stations provide water and lemon-lime electrolyte at every station. The Energy Zone before mile 7 stocks gels in Apple Cinnamon and Mixed Berry (caffeinated) flavors. Water is served in recyclable cups filled from Water Monsters, and marked recycling bins are available on course. Medical personnel from Ascension Seton will be present at aid stations offering basic first aid. Restrooms are available at each aid station, with additional facilities noted at miles 1 and 3.
The course has a four hour open window; participants who cannot maintain the required pace will be directed to the sidewalk and the finish line will not remain open beyond that time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
