Austerlitz Trail
The Austerlitz Trail is based at the KNVB Campus in the Staatsbossen near Zeist. Participants start and finish on the campus and can choose to run one, two or three loops. Each loop is approximately 10 km, so total distances depend on the number of loops.
- Approximately 10 km per loop
- About 21 km for two loops
- About 30 km for three loops
Routes run through the Staatsbossen up to the border with the Bornia nature area. The terrain includes mixed forest, old tree-lined avenues, open spots and sections of heather. The area has some elevation changes and a number of climbs, and the routes contain single tracks and historic forest paths. All routes are fully waymarked with arrows and tape.
Logistics are centered at a basecamp on the KNVB Campus where the start, finish and the main refreshment point are located. There is a supply point after each loop at the start/finish location. No disposable cups are provided, so participants should bring their own race cup. The event offers a pop-up Trailrunning Shop on site. The event date is listed subject to the availability of the KNVB Campus. A week before the event participants receive an information email around 10:00.
