Austerlitz Trail
The Austerlitz Trail has a basecamp at the KNVB Campus in the Staatsbossen near Zeist on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Routes start and finish at the campus and lead directly into the surrounding forest via specially opened gates.
All routes are built from three separate loops of about 10 km each. Participants choose to run one, two or three loops, and each loop returns to the start/finish area. The exact order of the loops is announced on the event day.
The terrain passes mixed forests, old lanes, open areas and patches of heather, and includes some elevation changes and single tracks. Routes are fully marked with arrows and ribbons. After each loop there is a supply point at the start/finish location.
Practical details published in the event information include that no disposable cups are provided so participants should bring a racecup, the ticket shows a one-hour start block for the first loop, and participants receive an information email about a week before the event around 10:00. A commemorative medal with a deer design is available as an extra ticket and may be purchasable on the day if stock allows.
