Auggie's 5K Run & Walk
The 26th Annual Auggie's 5K Run & Walk takes place in Wheeling, West Virginia. This athletic event supports the programming for the Ohio County Animal Shelter. The course is situated on the Heritage Trail along the Ohio River, utilizing the local paved trail system for both disciplines.
Participants can choose from the following categories:
- 5 km Run
- 5 km Walk
The event features a flat and fast course that begins and ends at Warwood Middle School. Runners and walkers follow separate out-and-back routes. The runners travel north on the paved path, while the walkers travel south from the common start and finish area.
The first 200 pre-registered individuals are guaranteed long-sleeve tech shirts featuring original custom artwork. Additional items such as hoodies and hats are available for purchase. Following the conclusion of the activities, there are refreshments and door prizes for those in attendance. Awards include gift certificates and custom medallions for the top three male and female finishers in both the run and the walk, as well as medallions for age division winners.
