ATW Watford Half Marathon & 10K
The Watford Half Marathon and 10K is an established event that has been held for over 40 years. Based in Cassiobury Park, the event offers multiple distances across varied terrain. The courses are supported by lead cars, cycle escorts, and professional commentators. Participants receive a unique medal, finish line goodies, and access to free professional photos.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon (approx. 21.1 km)
- 10 km
- 1.8 km Fun Run
The half marathon follows fully closed roads and country lanes, passing through Bucks Hill, Commonwood Common, and Chandlers Cross. This race hosts the Hertfordshire Senior half marathon championships and has a cut-off time of 2 hours 45 minutes at the 11-mile point. The 10 km is a multi-terrain route that includes traffic-free roads, the Grand Union Canal towpath, and woodland trails. There is no cut-off time for the 10 km distance.
An event village features stalls and activities, while atmosphere is provided by musical entertainment and on-course drummers. Pacers are available for both the 10 km and half marathon distances to assist runners. While there is no organized parking at the park, various public transport options and city center car parks are located nearby.
