Atlantic Triathlon (USAT Sanctioned)
The Atlantic Triathlon takes place on September 27, 2026 in Far Rockaway, Queens, at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 84th Street. The event uses Rockaway Beach for the swim and the concrete boardwalk for the bike and run segments.
Event formats and distances include:
- Triathlon: 0.25mi swim in Atlantic Ocean, 12 miles bike (2 laps), 3 miles run
- Duathlon: 3 miles run, 12 miles bike (2 laps), 3 miles run
- Junior options: Junior events race with adults, free registration options for eligible juniors
Registration opens January 31, 2026. Fees vary by event; sample fees in the event listing include $110 for most triathlon entries and $80 for individual duathlon entries. Day-of registration is available with a $10 late fee. No racing license is required to register.
Course and logistics notes: the swim takes place in the Atlantic Ocean and wetsuits are allowed; personal swim buoys are permitted in the Open/Family last wave. Bikes run on the boardwalk for two laps and any bike type is permitted, including fixed gear. Transition is located near Beach 84th Street. Free public parking is available at Beach 94th Street. Water, trash and restrooms are available at the event check-in. Draft results are provided the same day and full online results are normally published within 48 hours.
Awards and extras: all participants receive a running jersey; top-3 men and women receive medals and winners receive merchandise. Overall triathlon winners receive a champion suit.
