Atlantic Triathlon : Far Rockaway, NY
Atlantic Triathlon takes place on September 27, 2026, at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 84th Street in Far Rockaway, New York. The event includes ocean swimming and boardwalk bike and run segments, with transitions located near the Beach 84 Street bus stop.
Event formats and distances:
- Individual Triathlon: 0.25 mi swim; 12 mi bike (boardwalk, 2 laps); 3 mi run.
- Beginner Triathlon: 0.25 mi swim with personal buoys; 12 mi bike; 3 mi run.
- Individual Duathlon: 3 mi run; 12 mi bike (boardwalk, 2 laps); 3 mi run.
- Junior/High School entry: age 14 to 18, free registration, racing with adults.
Race logistics note several specific requirements and provisions. Participants should write their race number on the left arm and left leg before the swim; wetsuits are permitted. Bicycle numbers may be placed on the seat post or top tube and helmet numbers on the front; markers are available at the registration desk. Any type of bike is allowed, including fixed gear; rental bikes are not provided.
Support and event services include free public parking at Beach 94th Street, water and a trash bag at the check-in table, and stationary restrooms on site. Results and event photos are normally published within 48 hours. All participants receive a running jersey; top three men and women receive medals and winners receive merchandise.
