Atlantic Duathlon
Atlantic Duathlon takes place on the oceanfront boardwalk at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 84th Street in Far Rockaway, Queens. Both run segments occur on the boardwalk and the bike course consists of two laps on the same oceanfront route; the transition area is located near the Beach 84 Street bus stop. The course is described as flat, smooth, and offering ocean views.
Event distances:
- 3 miles for the first run segment on the boardwalk.
- 11.6 miles bike segment consisting of two laps on the boardwalk.
- 3 miles for the second run segment on the boardwalk.
Registration and entries are handled on race day and online; no racing license is required and day-of registration is available with a 20 USD late fee. A junior/high school entry option is offered for ages 14 to 18. Race numbers are assigned for jersey, bicycle, and helmet placement and timing is manual; timing chips from other races may remain on bikes.
Results, photos, and awards: draft duathlon results are posted after the final athlete finishes and final online results, including transition breakdowns, are posted within 48 hours. All duathlon participants receive a running jersey; medals are given to the top three men and top three women and finisher medals are awarded to all finishers. Free public parking is available at Beach 94th Street. Stationary restrooms and basic water and trash provisions are available on site.
