Atlantic City Marathon
The Atlantic City Marathon is a long-running road race established in 1958 and described as the third oldest continuing marathon in the United States. The event weekend features multiple race distances and a course noted for being fast and flat, with about eight miles of oceanfront Boardwalk running. All courses start and finish at Michigan Ave on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in front of Bally's.
The event is USATF certified as a Boston Qualifier. It is also an RRCA State of New Jersey Championship Event and an Abbott World Major Age Group Championship qualifier. The race weekend received Race Raves Runners Choice recognition in 2024 and 2025.
Expo and packet pickup take place at Bally's Treymore Ballroom with sessions on the day before the main weekend and the morning of the first race day. Bag check is provided on the Boardwalk in front of Bally's with a one bag per runner policy; loose clothing and suitcases are not accepted.
Awards are given to overall male and female top three finishers and to top three male and female finishers in ten year age ranges. Prize money is offered for top finishers across distances, with specified payouts for the 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon. Pace teams are available for full and half marathon runners.
