Astron Energy Trail
The Astron Energy Trail is a trail running event held in the Baakens Valley with event base at The Fat Tracks Containers. The event includes multiple route options and is presented in partnership with Astron Energy and Toby’s Motors.
Distances and entry fees:
- 5 km : R175 (Primary school children under 13 pay R50)
- 15 km : R225
- 20 km : R275
Entries open on 1 January 2027 and pre-entries close at 13:00 on Thursday, 18 February 2027. Late entries are accepted on race day from 06:30 with an additional R50 fee added to the entry. Substitutions are allowed; late substitutions on race day incur a R150 fee. No refunds are offered.
Age categories include an A-Batch Under 13 for the 5 km, and a C-Batch 50 and older eligible for the 5 km, 15 km and 20 km. The event is dog friendly. Route profiles are provided for the 5 km, 15 km and 20 km options. A race briefing is scheduled prior to the starts and a prize giving takes place after the runs.
