15th Annual Assault on Kennesaw Mountain Memorial 5K Race
The Assault on Kennesaw Mountain Memorial 5K is a memorial road race conducted at Kennesaw Mountain State Park with a start point and opening ceremony at Grace Community Church, 770 Kennesaw Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30060. The event marks its 15th year and is presented as a memorial to the Georgia National Guard’s Fallen 43 Soldiers lost during the Global War on Terrorism 2001 to present.
Participants include military and civilian runners, walkers, and ruckers of various ages who run, walk, or ruck to honor the fallen and to support the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation. The event states objectives to build morale and promote physical fitness. Since 2012 more than 3,015 participants have taken part and the event has generated over $59,000 in support for Georgia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen.
Race packets contain a finisher dog tag, race shirt, race bib, and an AoKM sticker. Packet pick-up is available on race day at Grace Community Church and the day before at Big Peach Running Company in Kennesaw. There is no virtual race option this year.
