Ascutney Mountain Run

The Ascutney Mountain Run is a 3.7-mile running race located in Windsor, Vermont. The course follows the paved Auto Road within Mt. Ascutney State Park. Participants begin at the park entrance and climb a total of 2,300 vertical feet to reach the finish line at the summit parking lot.

This competition is a USATF Sanctioned Event. According to current regulations, participants may use headphones during the race; however, baby strollers are strictly prohibited on the course. The event features multiple age categories for both male and female participants, including divisions for those 14 and under, 15-19, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

Post-race activities, including food and awards, take place at the summit parking lot. Parking at the summit is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee per vehicle. For those bringing animals, Mt. Ascutney State Park requires all dogs to be on a leash and possess a visible rabies tag.

Lodging options are available in the surrounding area. Accommodations include camping directly at the state park or staying at nearby hotels and inns located in Brownsville, Windsor, and Springfield, ranging from 3 to 12 miles from the race site.
