Around the World Run
The Around the World Run takes place as part of the 48th International Folk Festival in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with the festival scheduled for September 25 and 26, 2026. The run brings together community members to coincide with the festival, which will feature food and performances.
Distances offered include:
- 5K Run/Walk timed in person
- 5K Virtual
- 10K Virtual
The in person event uses Cape Fear Botanical Garden at 536 N. Eastern Blvd in Fayetteville for the start line and parking. All race participants may show proof of registration at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden for a 50 percent discount on garden entry between September 24 and September 28, 2026.
Virtual participants may run anywhere and submit finish times between September 9 and September 23, 2026. Registrants who register by September 16 may choose to pick up their event shirt at packet pickup or pay to have it mailed.
The Friends of Civil Affairs Around the World Run raises funds for the FOCA Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund awards merit and needs based scholarships to spouses and children and supports the global mission of Civil Affairs Soldiers and their families.
