About the race
The Armstrong County Rim-to-Rim 15K Challenge is a point-to-point road event through Palo Duro Canyon south of Claude, Texas. The course covers 15 kilometers from a starting location about 14 miles south of Claude on Highway 207 to a finish line approximately 9 miles further south. The route begins with roughly 5 miles that are mostly downhill, with about 800 feet of elevation change. This is followed by about 2 miles of rolling hills along the canyon bottom.
The race concludes with an ascent of about 800 feet out of the canyon back to the finish area. Event options include individual runners and a three-person relay. Relay exchanges are located at about 3.1 miles and 6.2 miles along the course. Registration fees listed are $50 for the individual event and $120 for a three-person relay team, which corresponds to $50 per team member. Because the course is point-to-point, transportation from the finish back to the starting area is very limited and may involve waiting.
Participants are responsible for their own return arrangements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
