Whiskey Basin Trail Runs
The Whiskey Basin Trail Runs take place Saturday, April 17, 2027 at Watson Lake Park in Prescott, Arizona. The event uses sections of the Prescott Circle Trail and finishes at Watson Lake with views of the Granite Dells and the Granite Dell rock formation.
Distances offered:
- 92K : full loop of the Prescott Circle Trail, point to point.
- 60K : point to point along sections of the Prescott Circle Trail.
- 33K : point to point along Prescott Circle Trail sections.
- Half-Marathon : single track, technical granite rock, and steep scrambles near the Granite Dells.
- 10K : fast single track and technical granite sections around Watson Lake.
Course and support details are provided for each distance. Terrain descriptions include flat gravel paths, rocky scrambles, winding single track, desert trails, pines, and juniper. Aid stations are placed regularly; spacing varies by distance (ranges published per race). The event is cupless; participants are expected to use a reusable cup. Chip timing records finish times and all finishers receive a finisher award; top three men and women receive awards per distance. Drop bags are allowed for the 92K at specified aid stations; smaller distances have a designated drop bag area at start/finish. Crews and pacers have rules that differ by distance, and medical personnel are stationed at the start/finish with the ability to respond along the course.
