Stunner Night Runs
Stunner Night Runs is a night trail running event at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa, AZ. The event features multiple looped courses described as flat and fast that use the Chain Fruit, Lost Sheep, Channel, and Blevins Trails and pass through Chain Fruit cholla at the base of Pass Mountain. The race is part of the Insomniac Night Trail Run Series.
Distances:
- 50K : 31.2 miles (four laps)
- 25K : 15.5 miles (two laps)
- 12K : 7.7 miles
- 6K : 3.4 miles
Aid stations include a fully stocked start/finish station and a remote Levee Aid station encountered each loop. Stations are stocked with water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups, and hot food options. This is a CUPLESS event; runners should bring a reusable cup or purchase one on site.
Crews are allowed at the start/finish and drop bag storage is provided at the staging area. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K beginning on the final loop. Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated turn signs, and blue & white checkerboard flagging for wrong-way trails. Medical staff will be based at the start/finish headquarters.
Parking at the park is limited; shuttles run from the group campground (approximately 1 mile from the start). The park charges a $10 entry fee per vehicle. Expect very hot conditions at the start with cooler nighttime temperatures later. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
