Stunner Night Runs - Usery Mountain Regional Park
Stunner Night Runs is a series of night trail races held at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa, Arizona. The event offers four distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 12K
- 6K
The course is described as flat and fast and uses Chain Fruit, Lost Sheep, Channel, and Blevins Trails. Runners pass through areas of Chain Fruit cholla at the base of Pass Mountain. Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated signs at junctions, and blue and white checkerboard flagging to indicate wrong-way trails.
Aid is provided at a fully stocked start/finish aid station and a remote Levee Aid that runners pass each loop. Aid offerings include water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups, and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. The event operates as a cupless race; participants should have a reusable cup or may buy one on site.
Crews are allowed at the start/finish area. Pacers are permitted only for 50K runners beginning on the final loop. A drop bag area is available at the start/finish for quick access. Limited parking is available near the staging area; 12K and 6K parking uses a group campground with a shuttle about one mile from the start. The park charges a vehicle entry fee. Medical staff are based at the start/finish to provide first aid and may remove participants if necessary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
