Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs
The Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs take place Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ (2446 Fort Tuthill Loop). The event includes multiple looped trail distances and on-site group camping near the start and finish area.
Distances:
- 50K
- 27K
- 13K
- 6K
The courses use Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop and run through ponderosa pine forest above 7,000 feet. Trails vary from narrow single track to wider forest paths and include sections that rise onto a mesa with expansive mountain views. The 27K is two full circuits, the 13K is one loop, and the 6K covers a partial Soldiers Trail loop.
Aid stations are positioned roughly every 4 to 7 miles and offer water, an electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Runners are advised to plan for carrying at least one bottle of water because of elevation and daytime temperatures. A drop bag service is available at the start/finish area and will be accessible on each loop.
Event logistics include chip timing with posted results, awards for the top three male and female finishers at each distance, and a finisher mug or wooden Artworx award for all finishers. Pacers are permitted only for the final loop of the 50K and crews are allowed at the start/finish area only. A 10 hour time limit applies to the event.
