Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs : June 20, 2026
Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs is held at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event offers multiple loop distances that run through ponderosa pine forest above 7,000 feet and include mesa viewpoints and a mix of narrow single track and wider forest paths.
Distances
- 50K
- 27K (two laps of the 13K loop)
- 13K (one lap)
- 6K (partial Soldiers Trail loop)
The 50K course includes additional trails that extend beyond the park and returns to the start/finish for a final loop. Aid stations are stocked and spaced roughly every 4 to 7 miles depending on the distance, providing water, an electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Runners are advised to carry at least one bottle of water due to elevation and daytime heat.
Race operations use chip timing with bib mounted timing chips and results posted as gun time. Live split tracking is available. Pacers are permitted only for the final loop of the 50K; crews may access the start/finish area only. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish and are available on each loop. Medical staff are based at the start/finish and may withdraw participants for safety. There is an overall 5 PM cutoff, which allows ten hours to complete the course.
Onsite amenities and logistics include festival style tent only group camping near the start/finish with limited permits and pre setup tent and cot rental options. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a branded campfire mug or wooden finisher award.
