Antigonish Highland Games 5 Mile Road Race
The Antigonish Highland Games 5 Mile Road Race takes place at Columbus Field on Main Street in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The listing notes this is the 26th edition in the event's 28th year.
The course is flat and out and back. It includes approximately three miles on a gravel path with no traffic and the remainder on paved streets. The start and finish are on a dirt track. Organizers indicate runners should be able to complete the course in about 60 minutes.
Entry includes a technical t-shirt for the first 200 participants, a refreshment ticket for those 19 years and over, and access to the Concert Under the Stars. A reduced entry fee applies for junior and youth categories. Race kits are available for pick-up on race day at Columbus Field.
Cash prizes are listed for the top three male and top three female finishers. Antigonish Highland Games medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category. The event also presents various age group trophies and local awards, and a reception in Ceilidh Corner follows the race.
