Antigonish Highland Games 5 Mile Road Race
The five mile road race is part of the Antigonish Highland Games and is based at Columbus Field on Main Street in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is the 26th edition of the event in its 28th year.
The course is flat and out and back, with the start located at the games site. Approximately three miles of the route use a gravelled path with no traffic, and the remainder follows paved streets. The start and finish take place on a dirt track.
Entry includes a technical race shirt for the first 200 participants. Registrations provide a refreshment ticket for those 19 years and over and include access to the Concert Under the Stars for certain entries. Race kits are available for pick up at Columbus Field from 3:00 PM on race day. A reception in Ceilidh Corner follows the race.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. Antigonish Highland Games medals are presented to the top three finishers in each age category. Additional trophies and awards are presented across categories such as open, junior, master, senior master, grand master, local runners, youth, and fastest kilted runner.
