About the race
Race to the Rescue is a scenic, fundraising trail race on Nova Scotia’s Cape George Trails near Antigonish. Hosted by Strait Area Ground Search and Rescue in collaboration with Highland Trail Running and the Cape George Trail Association, the event offers two distances: 10 km (≈265 m elevation) and 21 km (≈720 m). The route starts at the North Shore Fire Hall and ends at the Cape George Lighthouse, winding through coastal forest, rugged terrain, and ocean views.
The 21 km features two aid stations and the 10 km one, with manual timing and post-race transport back to the start. Proceeds support SAGSAR and the Cape George Trail Association; dogs aren’t allowed on the course but may be at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
