Race to the Rescue
The event is hosted by Strait Area Ground Search and Rescue in collaboration with Cape George Trail Association. It is a fundraiser for Strait Area Ground Search and Rescue and takes place at 432 Marsh Road, Antigonish, Nova Scotia on September 26, 2026.
Distance options
- 10 km : North Shore Fire Hall to Cape George Lighthouse, 265 m elevation.
- 21 km : Loop from North Shore Fire Hall to Cape George Lighthouse, 720 m elevation.
The 21 km route uses Goat, Heritage and Bubbling Springs trails. There will be two aid stations on the 21 km course and one on the 10 km; aid stations will provide water and a first aid provider. The race will be manually timed. Transport will be available from the finish at Cape George Lighthouse back to the start at North Shore Fire Hall. Dogs are not allowed during the race but are welcome at the finish area.
Bib pick-ups occur on September 25 and 26 at locations designated by the organizers. Awards are presented immediately after the 10 km and 21 km finishes. Listed registration fees are CA$40.06 for the 10 km and CA$56.26 for the half marathon, with remaining spots shown on the event page. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
