Annapolis Striders Women's Distance Festival 5K
The Annapolis Striders Women’s Distance Festival is a women-only 5K race held in Annapolis, with a companion Run After The Women 5K for men held afterward. The event is part of the Maryland RRCA Women’s Distance Festival Grand Prix Series and serves as the graduation race for the Annapolis Striders’ 5K Beginning Runners Program.
The course is an open two-loop route through the Wardour neighborhood of West Annapolis on paved roads. It is mostly flat with a few hills, includes some shaded sections, and crosses a wooden footbridge. The race starts and finishes beside West Annapolis Elementary School at 505 Melvin Avenue. Two water stops are provided, one at the footbridge and one near the start/finish area.
Packet pick-up takes place race morning in the West Annapolis Elementary School cafeteria on the Tucker Street side. There is ample free on-street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Chip timing is provided by Maryland Timing and results will be posted on the organizer and timing service websites.
Entry fees vary by registration period: early bird through May 8 is $22.50 online and $20.00 by mail (postmarked by May 1); May 9 through July 2 is $27.50 online and $25.00 by mail (postmarked by July 1); July 3 through July 9 is $27.50 online only; race day is $35.00 cash or check. No refunds or transfers. Race awards include 1st through 3rd overall for women and men, age-group awards for multiple age brackets, and mother/daughter team awards. A race premium is guaranteed to the first 150 applicants. Post-race food will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
