Event overview
The Ann Arbor Tri, Du, & Aquabike takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Halfmoon Lake in Pinckney Recreation Area. The event has been held since 1986 and is designated a USA Triathlon state championship race. Hosted by the Ann Arbor Tri Club and the University of Michigan Tri Team, the event program includes triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, relay teams, and a timed open-water 1-mile swim. The race day includes a post-race food service where staff and volunteers provide items such as pancakes and breakfast burritos. The event follows a Leave No Trace zero waste policy with on-course recycling and composting efforts.
Course, distances and logistics
Participants swim in open water at Halfmoon Lake, bike on paved rural roads, and run on the Potawatomi Trail. All courses are subject to change for safety at the race director's discretion. Event distances include:
- Olympic Triathlon - 1500 meter swim; 28-mile bike; 5.3-mile trail run
- Sprint Triathlon - 750 meter swim; 14-mile bike; 3.5-mile trail run
- Olympic Aquabike - 1500 meter swim; 28-mile bike
- Sprint Duathlon - 2-mile run; 14-mile bike; 3.5-mile run
- Open Water Swim - 1 mile
- Relay options - Olympic and Sprint team entries
