Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run

The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run is an annual point to point 100 mile mountain race through the San Gabriel Mountains, held since 1986. The course runs between Wrightwood and Loma Alta Park in Altadena, with elevations ranging from about 1,135 to 9,300 feet and roughly 21,610 feet of cumulative ascent over approximately 100.2 miles. The route has changed over the years due to trail conditions and safety, and the 2026 edition bypasses Chantry Flats because of fire and storm damage. The 2026 course approaches the top of Mt Wilson and proceeds into Altadena via the Kenyon/Devore Trail and a series of trails and roads that include Shortcut, Redbox, Newcomb Saddle, Rincon-Redbox Road, the Gabrielino Trail, Idlehour, Sam Merrill, Millard, and Loma Alta Park.

Entry is managed by a lottery with limited available spots; the race requires a 50+ mile qualifier within a specified window and requires completion of trail work by a stated deadline for most local entrants. There is a SOLO division with rules prohibiting pacers and crew. AC100 serves as a qualifier for larger series, and finishers meeting time thresholds receive official finisher recognition and time based awards including a finisher tech shirt and a range of buckles and trophies. A refund schedule applies with percentage refunds available until specified dates. Training runs, trail workdays, and volunteer programs are part of the event calendar.
