Event overview
The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run is a point-to-point ultramarathon held since 1986. The 36th edition is scheduled for October 3, 2026. The race covers 100 miles across the San Gabriel Mountains and is one of the original five 100-mile races in the United States. It is a Western States qualifying race and an UTMB index 100M qualifying event.
Course
The course runs between Wrightwood and Altadena, with elevations ranging from 1,135 to 9,300 feet and approximately 21,610 feet of cumulative elevation gain. The route includes high alpine ridges, rocky high-country trails, deep canyons near Mt. Wilson, and the Mt. Wilson climb. For 2026 the course bypasses Chantry Flats and finishes in Altadena via the Kenyon/Devore Trail to the top of Mt. Wilson, passing Shortcut, Redbox, Newcomb Saddle, Rincon-Redbox Road, and the Gabrielino Trail toward Loma Alta Park.
Entry, requirements and logistics
Entry for 2026 is by lottery. Lottery registration opened September 19, 2025 and closed September 29, 2025; 210 spots were available via the lottery.
