Event Details

The event takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Claremore, Oklahoma. It includes multiple race distances and a virtual option:

Course and Timing

The Half Marathon starts at Andy Payne Memorial Park and finishes at the Claremore Museum of History (MoH). The 5K begins at Claremore Lake and also ends at the museum. The One Mile Fun Run occurs at the Andy Payne Race Track at Claremore High School. The course is USATF sanctioned and certified, with electronic timing provided by Tatur Racing.

Participants in the Half Marathon and 5K are provided with bus transportation from the finish area (the parking lot of First Baptist Church, next to the museum) to their respective start lines.

Post-Race and Additional Information

An awards ceremony is held at the Claremore Museum of History. The museum also hosts an Andy Payne Exhibit, and a statue of Andy Payne is located in the Legacy Gardens. Paid participants in all events receive a participation medal.

Packet pickup is available on Friday, April 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Claremore Museum of History. Race day packet pickup is also available at the museum from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. All paid registrants receive a bib, swag items, and a race t-shirt, though a shirt is only guaranteed for registrations completed by midnight on March 15.

Event Background

The event honors Cherokee Nation citizen Andy Payne, who won the 1928 International Trans-Continental Footrace (known as the Bunion Derby), a 3,423-mile race along Route 66 from Los Angeles to New York City. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
