Event Overview
The Ana Leaf Pursuit Triathlon takes place at St Catherine's breakwater, offering a series of multisport challenges for different age groups. The event features a sprint distance triathlon alongside two aquathon options. The run segments for the aquathon races are held on the gravel surface of the breakwater.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- Sprint Triathlon: A 750m swim, 20km non-drafting bike leg, and a 5km run.
- Medium Aquathon: A 300m swim followed by a 2km run, open to adults and children aged 11 and above.
- Short Aquathon: A 100m swim and a 1km run, designed for children aged 8 to 15.
Equipment Requirements
All competitors are required to wear a brightly coloured swim hat. For the triathlon, participants must have a road-worthy bicycle and a helmet. Wetsuits are compulsory for the triathlon if the sea temperature falls below 14°C, and they are mandatory for all aquathon competitors under the age of 15. While water safety cover is provided, athletes may optionally use tow floats during the swim sections.
