Amherstburg Canada Day 5K 2026
The Amherstburg Canada Day 5K takes place in Amherstburg with the start and finish in front of Fort Malden Historic Park at 100 Laird Ave. The main 5 km course passes through Amherstburg's historic downtown and includes a section on Dalhousie Street where local firefighters provide cooling spray. The Kids Dash is roughly 1 km toward the waterfront ice cream store and back; younger children may turn around early and will still receive a medal if they cross the finish wearing their bib.
This is a chipped-timing event managed by W.R.A.C.E. All registrants receive a medal and adult registrants are guaranteed a shirt if registered by May 1. Race kit pick up is available at the Amherstburg Libro Centre and at the race site at Fort Malden. The event is volunteer-run and proceeds support the Essex Region Conservation Foundation for local conservation projects. The event has previously drawn over 1,000 participants.
