Amherstburg Canada Day 5K 2026
The event takes place in Amherstburg, Ontario, in front of Fort Malden Historic Park on July 1, 2026. It offers routes for children and adults for running, walking, and mobility-assisted participation.
Distances
- 1 km Kids Dash
- 5 km Run
- 5 km Walk
- 5 km Wheel for walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters
The main start is at 100 Laird Ave beneath a start arch. The adult course runs down Dalhousie to a turnout area with firefighter spray, then returns to the finish. The Kids Dash is an approximately 1 km out-and-back toward the Waterfront Ice Cream store; young children may shorten the distance and will receive a medal if they wear their bib at the finish.
This is a chipped, timed event managed by W.R.A.C.E. Bibs should be attached visibly on the front of the body. Race kit pickup is scheduled the day before at the Amherstburg Libro Centre and on race morning at Fort Malden within the published pickup window.
The event is volunteer-run and proceeds are donated to the Essex Region Conservation Foundation for regional conservation projects. Adult registrants receive a medal and a shirt is guaranteed for those registered by May 1. Kids Dash participants receive a medal and packet items but not shirts.
