Ames Midnight Madness Run
Ames Midnight Madness is an evening running event held in downtown Ames, Iowa on Friday, July 10, 2026, in partnership with the Iowa Games Opening Ceremony. The event features a certified 5K road course and a separate Kids Free Fun Run of 600 m.
Registration fees increase by date, ranging from $35 for early bird registration to $60 on race day. Fees include a t-shirt, after party food and drinks, and a finisher medal; online processing fees are not included. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after June 1.
Event operations include packet pickup at Torrent Brewery and a post race celebration with live music by The Faculty Lounge Band, food vendors, and beverages. The after party is free to all spectators and runners. The official course map will be released prior to the race.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division. Age divisions include 14U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. Awards are presented the same evening as the race.
