American Legion Freedom Run - Athens, TN
The American Legion Freedom Run takes place at the Eureka Trailhead, 1400 East Madison Avenue, Athens, TN 37303. The event includes multiple entries that use the Eureka Trail, a crushed stone and gravel route that follows a former railroad bed.
The trail winds southeast for about six miles through woodlands, rural landscapes, and the community of Mashburn, and it passes through the outskirts and into downtown Englewood. The trail is named for the Eureka Hosiery Mill, which stood near the Englewood trailhead. The on-site 5K is described as an out-and-back route on the old railroad route and relatively flat.
