Ambulance Driver 5K at BADSONS Brewery
The Ambulance Driver 5K is a summer evening running event held in Derby, Connecticut. Organized by Derby’s Storm Engine Company Ambulance & Rescue Corps, the race follows a course through the streets and hills of the local area. The event features a start and finish area located at BADSONS Brewery, marked by a large American flag.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km
- 0.5 mile Kids Fun Run
The 5 km course includes a water stop and an optional sprinkler station to assist runners with the July temperatures. Participants who register for this distance receive a short-sleeve technical race shirt and a goodie bag. All finishers in the 5 km event are awarded a medal. For those aged 21 and over, registration includes one draft beer. Additionally, the first 250 registered runners receive an allotment of wings from a local establishment.
The Kids Fun Run is a 0.5 mile down-and-back course designed for participants aged 12 and under. It is hosted by members of Storm Engine Company #2. Every finisher in the children's event receives a medal and a fire safety-themed swag bag.
Awards are presented to the overall top first responder, top first responders by division, and age group winners. Proceeds from the event support the operations, training, and equipment for the local ambulance and rescue services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
