Amasa Trail Race
Amasa Trail Race in Moab, Utah offers trail running on multiple marked courses that pass through Kane Springs Canyon and the Amasa Back trail system. The event includes varied terrain with singletrack, double track, technical sections, and river-side descents.

The route begins along Kane-Springs Creek and climbs Cliffhanger Trail, where petroglyphs can be seen on the canyon walls. Runners follow Amasa Back and pass Whale Rock near the Captain Ahab Trail. The 25K course descends into Jackson's Hole to run smooth double track before rejoining the 15K on Rockstacker Trail. The course drops toward the Colorado River and provides views of the Behind the Rocks fins and the La Sal Mountains.
Course elevations and totals include:
- 25K lowest 3950 ft, highest 4880 ft, elevation gain 2431 ft, elevation loss 2431 ft.
- 15K lowest 3950 ft, highest 4880 ft, elevation gain 1700 ft, elevation loss 1700 ft.
- 10K lowest 3950 ft, highest 4685 ft, elevation gain 1183 ft, elevation loss 1183 ft.
Aid stations are cupless; water dispensers are located at the start and finish and at all aid stations, and runners should bring a reusable cup. Packet pickup is held on race morning at the Kane Creek Recreation Parking Lot and requires photo ID. Entries are non-transferable. All finishers receive a custom race shirt and a finisher medal.
