About the race
The 2026 Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run is a community event at Prince's Island Park on October 11, 2026 that raises funds for local programs and services for people living with dementia in Calgary. The event uses a Fun Run format and offers options for in-person and virtual participation. Distances available accommodate a range of paces and family groups. Participants can choose from the following distances: - 1 km walk - 5 km walk - 5 km fun run - 10 km fun run There is no advanced race package pick-up this year; participant items such as socks will be available at the registration tent on event day.
The event includes a Memory Wall where participants may share a photo, video or story via the event’s Kudoboard to honour or remember someone. The signature event colour is red and participants are invited to wear red or costumes as part of the day. The event notes past participation and fundraising levels as context for its community impact and highlights that the walk and run support access to care, connection and services for people affected by dementia.
