The Altamont 5K Run/Walk is held at Crupe Bozenkill Park in Altamont, NY. The event serves as the final race of the Hilltown Triple Crown series and is a benefit for local food pantries and The Caring Closet. Participants are asked to bring unexpired food or dry goods and feminine hygiene products for donation.
The event offers both a 5K run division and a walk division. Amenities and activities include music on the course and at the finish area, vendors, and over 100 door prizes. T-shirts are provided to the first 150 pre-registered entrants; registrants who sign up by August 11 are guaranteed their preferred shirt size, with sizes potentially unavailable after that date.
The event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and the course is USATF certified (#NY18053JG). Awards include top finishers in the run division and combined awards in the walk division, plus memorial awards presented to the top male and female winners. The 5K run presents overall male and female awards and age-group awards for multiple brackets, with the walk division recognizing the top 10 overall combined male and female finishers.
