St. Patrick's Spring Fling Trail Run
The St. Patrick's Spring Fling Trail Run takes place at the Alsea Falls Recreation Area in Oregon. This event coincides with the Spring Equinox and features a festive theme where participants are encouraged to wear green. The race base is located at the Fall Creek Trailhead, situated between the campground and the day-use area.
Participants can choose from three distinct trail distances:
- Half Marathon (250 runner limit)
- 10K (250 runner limit)
- 5K (50 runner limit)
The courses are marked with pink arrows and striped ribbons. For safety, the Half Marathon route includes road crossings at miles 4 and 7, which are managed by certified flaggers. An aid station, referred to as Aid Bravo, is positioned at mile 7 for the longer distance. All participants receive a custom pint glass, and post-race pizza is provided in the woods.
This event is Trail Sisters Approved, meaning it adheres to specific standards such as equal podium awards, women-specific apparel, and the provision of menstrual products at aid stations. A portion of every registration fee is donated to support the Alsea Falls Trail System. Custom awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories and overall categories.
