About the race
Almindingsløbet is a traditional mass-participation event on Bornholm organized by Viking Atletik. It is scheduled for Saturday 19 September 2026 and takes place in Almindingen, with start and finish at the same location near Lilleborg.
The event offers three marked routes on forest trails and some asphalt through Almindingen. The course is described as hilly and routed along main forest roads, with route signage and occasional course marshals. A water station is placed at about 3.5 km on the 6 km and 8 km routes. Dogs are not allowed.
Distances:
- 8 km running route
- 6 km walk and motion route
- 2.6 km walk, motion route and children's run (up to and including 15 years)
Participants receive net chip timing, fruit and half-liter bottled water from Rema1000, an online diploma, free photo downloads, and entry to many prize draws. The fastest child in certain classes can receive a winner prize on some distances; adult 6 km and 2.6 km are designated as motion classes without winner prizes. Results are published after the event and prize-draw winners must collect prizes the same day.
Pre-registration and on-site registration are available with differing fees by age and date of registration. Hold entries for teams require a minimum of six participants and have separate payment arrangements.
