Alex's Duck Duck Run : event overview
Alex's Duck Duck Run takes place at the Margaret Upton Arboretum in Saint Joseph, MI. The event offers a children focused 1K kids fun run and a 5K run and walk along the lakeshore. The 5K course follows the St. Joseph River and passes Silver Beach, Lions Park Beach, the Howard Recreational Trail and the Whirlpool Compass Fountain. The course both starts and finishes at the Margaret Upton Arboretum.
The 1K kids fun run covers about 0.62 miles on a paved sidewalk route with volunteers along the way. It is recommended for children 11 years and younger and parents are encouraged to accompany younger children. All 1K participants receive a race bib, a rubber duck award and a t shirt.
The event includes a shirt only supporter option; shirts will be shipped the week after the race or can be picked up at packet pick up. All proceeds benefit The Alex Mandarino Foundation, a 501(c) 3 not for profit organization that funds research related to the prevention, treatment and cure of neuroblastoma and other rare pediatric cancers.
