Alex Moore Festival
The Alex Moore Festival of Running takes place at the Norfolk Showground, combining two established events, the Alex Moore Relay and The Big Stampede. This event features a flat, Tarmac course suitable for various participant levels and age groups. The venue offers free parking, toilets, and individual changing rooms, though showers are not available.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- 2k children's race: Open to age groups from 4 to 12.
- 5k individual race: Open to runners aged 11 and older.
- Alex Moore Relay: Teams of three, where each member completes a 5k leg before the trio runs a final 2k leg together.
The course is well-marked with marshals and includes water stations on each lap. There are no cut-off times for any of the races, and medals are provided to all participants upon completion. The event also maintains a headphone-friendly policy.
The festival includes an event village with local food vendors and a dedicated area alongside the course for spectators and running clubs to set up gazebos and picnics. Results are recorded electronically and published online following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
