Albion Ascent Trail Race, Hamilton ON, September 27, 2026
Albion Ascent is a chip-timed urban trail race combining paved paths, dirt trails and technical sections. Routes run through King’s Forest and along the Red Hill Valley Trail, and include rivers and waterfalls such as Felker's Falls and Devil's Punch Bowl. Portions of the course use the Bruce Trail and showcase fall colours.
Distances offered
- 21 km out-and-back, mostly on the Bruce Trail with technical sections.
- 10 km mix of trails and singletrack, passes two waterfalls.
- 5 km primarily non-technical paths with a footbridge and Albion climbs.
- 3 km kids run, relatively flat out-and-back along Red Hill Valley Trail.
- 1 km kids run, relatively flat out-and-back across the bridge.
Aid stations provide Xact energy bars, water, electrolyte beverage and surprise snacks at start/finish, 3.5 km and 8 km. The race is cupless so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle.
Each runner receives a Canadian-made toque. Medals are not included with entry and may be purchased as an add-on. There is parking at Greenhill Bowl Park and Rosedale Park, and public transit access via the Greenhill/Cochrane stop. Race kit pickup is available at Runner's Den the day before and on race morning. The event offers a 100% deferral for cancellations made 30 days or more before the race and free bib transfers up to four days prior.
