Albion Ascent Trail Race
Albion Ascent is a chip timed urban trail race in Hamilton, ON. The course mixes paved paths, dirt trails and rugged technical sections and passes rivers, forests and waterfalls during fall colours. The event features King's Forest, Red Hill Creek and sections of the Bruce Trail including Felker's Falls and Devil's Punch Bowl.
Distances offered
- 21k Mostly on the Bruce Trail, technical, out-and-back passing the waterfalls twice.
- 10k Starts in King's Forest, includes the steep Albion climb and singletrack sections.
- 5k Concrete paths and dirt trails, foot bridge river crossing, non-technical route.
- 3km kids Relatively flat out-and-back across the bridge along the Red Hill Valley Trail.
- 1km kids Relatively flat out-and-back across the bridge along the Red Hill Valley Trail.
Aid stations are located at the start/finish, 3.5k and 8k and supply Xact energy bars, water, an electrolyte beverage and snacks. The race operates a cupless policy; participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. Each runner receives an Albion Ascent Canadian made toque; medals are not included with entry but are available as an add-on. Published entry fees are 5k 50 USD, 10k 65 USD, 21k 90 USD, 1k kids 15 USD and 3k kids 25 USD. Parking is available at Greenhill Bowl Park and Rosedale Park and public transit access is possible via the Greenhill/Cochrane bus stop. A 100 percent deferral is available for cancellations at least 30 days before the event and bib transfers are allowed up to four days before.
