Albion Ascent Trail Race : King's Forest, Hamilton (September 27, 2026)
Albion Ascent is a transit-friendly, chip-timed urban trail race that combines paved paths, dirt trails, and technical sections of the Bruce Trail. The course passes rivers, waterfalls and forested areas displaying fall colours.
Distances offered:
- 5 km: paved paths and dirt trails, footbridge river crossing, Albion hill climbs.
- 10 km: start in King’s Forest, steep Albion climb, rugged Bruce Trail singletrack.
- 21 km: warm-up on paved paths, then technical sections on the Bruce Trail.
- Kids 1 km and 3 km: relatively flat out-and-back across the bridge and Red Hill Valley Trail.
The start area is at Greenhill Bowl Park and Rosedale Park in Hamilton. Aid stations provide Xact energy bars, water, electrolyte beverage and surprise snacks; runners should bring a reusable cup or water bottle. Each participant receives a Canadian made toque printed locally. The event enforces a leave-no-trace policy and requests respect for volunteers.
Cancellation and transfer policy: 100% deferral if cancelled at least 30 days before the race; no deferrals within 30 days; free bib transfer available up to 4 days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
