About the race
We Got Your SIX-KM RUN‑WALK‑RUCK & K9 Division is a fundraising event on October 3, 2026 in Central Park, Spruce Grove, Alberta. The event offers a single course of 6 km, presented in run, walk, or ruck formats; participants in the ruck category are encouraged to wear a weighted pack or vest. A dedicated K9 division allows people to complete the course with a dog; dogs must remain on a fixed leash and owners are responsible for their animals.
The event is organized by the Alberta First Responders Association (AFRA) to support the 1st Health initiative. One hundred percent of proceeds are directed to peer support, suicide prevention training, and mental health resources for Alberta first responders. Fundraising progress listed at the time of this posting shows CA$4,525.10 raised toward a CA$5,000.00 goal.
On-site features include a Wellness Village with local health and wellness partners, gear demonstrations, and first responder displays. Every human participant receives a finisher medal; K9 registrations include a branded split medal with a detachable metal dog bone for the dog’s collar. Registration categories include general public, first responders, and children aged 10 to 15, plus specific K9 entry options. The event policy states there are no refunds.
