Albany Community Triathlon
The Albany Community Triathlon is a community-organized super-sprint triathlon in Albany, California, held at the Albany Aquatics Center and Memorial Park. It offers individual and relay competition for adults and children and is typically scheduled in late September or early October; the 2026 date is 20 September 2026. The event is volunteer powered and focuses on short distances and family-friendly participation.
Distances for the main and short courses include:
- Main course (ages 9+): 400 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Short course (ages 6+): 70 m swim, 2.5 km bike, 1 km run
Funds raised by the event support Albany Middle School and Albany High School athletics and programs. Since 2008 the event has raised over $100,000 for those beneficiaries. Results and photo albums from previous years are kept on the event site. Registration usually opens in spring or early summer. The short course is available to both kids and adults, and relay teams of two to three athletes may enter in place of an individual competitor.
