Albany Community Triathlon, Albany CA : 20 September 2026
The Albany Community Triathlon is a community multisport event held at the Albany Aquatic Center and Memorial Park on 20 September 2026. The event includes a main Super Sprint course for individual competitors and relay teams, plus a shorter mini triathlon for children and adults.
The outdoor 25‑yard pool uses split lanes so swimmers start in heats with two swimmers per lane. Water depth ranges from 4 to 13 feet and the water temperature is 80°F. The main swim is 400 m (17 lengths of a 25y pool); the short swim is 70 m (3 lengths). Bike and run courses are multiple laps on the streets around Albany High School and Memorial Park; the main bike is 12 clockwise laps and the main run is 3 counterclockwise laps. The routes are mostly flat with a small 1–2% grade on one or two blocks.
Distances and entry formats
- Main Course (Super Sprint): 400 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Short Course (Mini): 70 m swim, 2.5 km bike, 1 km run
- Relay Main Course: teams of 2 or 3 splitting the swim, bike, and run
Participants receive post‑race snacks and there are optional event shirts and medals for an extra fee if requested by the stated registration deadline. All proceeds benefit the Albany Athletics Boosters. Packet pickup occurs before race day at Road Runners Sports in Berkeley and online registration deadlines are listed by the organizer.
