FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay
The FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay is the main race of the Akron Marathon Race Series. The event takes place in downtown Akron on September 26, 2026 and finishes at the Blue Line at Lock 3. The course passes several local landmarks and parks, including the Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Estate, and Highland Square.
The race program includes separate events and supporting activities held around race weekend. A Health and Fitness Expo and packet pickup are part of the race series. The half marathon in 2026 marks the 20th year of that distance in the series. A Kids Fun Run is scheduled the day before the main race on September 25, 2026. The event offers a Team Relay with defined individual relay legs.
