Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay

FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay

The FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay are part of the Akron Marathon Race Series and take place in and around downtown Akron. The course begins and ends in downtown Akron and passes local landmarks and parks, including the Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Estate, and Highland Square, before reaching the Blue Line finish at Lock 3. The event includes an awards program that recognizes race finishers and notable performances, and an Elite Athlete Program that provides enhanced services for invited competitors.

The Team Relay divides the marathon course into five legs to allow groups to complete the full marathon distance together; it is presented as an option alongside individual marathon and half marathon entries. The broader race series also lists related events and activities such as a Health and Fitness Expo and a Kids Fun Run on the race weekend. The page lists an edition scheduled for September 25, 2027.
