FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay

The FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon, and Team Relay is a primary event within the Akron Marathon Race Series. The races begin and end in downtown Akron and the course travels through Summit Metro Parks and a variety of city neighborhoods.

The route highlights several local landmarks and places of interest, including the Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Estate, and Highland Square. The finish is at the Blue Line at Lock 3. Course maps and route files are provided in multiple formats for the full marathon, half marathon, and relay legs.

The Team Relay covers the full marathon distance, allowing participants to divide the course into individual legs. The 2026 event marks the 20th year of the Half Marathon.
